Dr. Hank Hall
Dr. Henry J. Hall was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He attended Southwest Miami High School where he was an All-State Football player. He chose to attend Auburn University because of their acclaimed veterinary school. He played football under the legendary coach, Shug Jordan, and after his football days he worked his way through veterinary school as a graduate assistant coach. He opened Northside Animal Hospital in 1976, specializing in small animal medicine and surgery. He is a member of AVMA and GVMA. He has one of the largest purple martin sanctuaries in the Southeast at the clinic. He enjoys reading, spending time with his family and five cats, Sebastian, Leo Jones, Annie, Stevie B and Jack.
Dr. Matt Clardy
Originally from Columbus, Dr. Clardy grew up in Dunwoody, GA and graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in Athens, GA. He practiced in Atlanta for four years. He returned to Columbus and joined Northside Animal Hospital in 1999. Dr. Clardy enjoys playing golf, hiking, and working outdoors. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends (including his two dogs "Ribs" and "Mooch").
Dr. John Bloszies
Dr. John Bloszies is a 1983 graduate of The University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He moved down to be with this wife, Dr. Linda Hammond, who was teaching and doing research at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He has a daughter, Libby, and a son, Sean. Both are “out of the nest”. The two veterinarians live on a farm in Seale, Alabama where they once raised horses but now mostly tend to aged equines which are living out their days in rural splendor. Dr. Bloszies’ hobbies include studying anthropology and working on an antique motorcycle.
Dr. James R. Thorsen, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Thorsen has been part of our team since February 2015. He earned his DVM from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine and is involved with several veterinary organizations, including AVMA, GVMA, and ALVMA. To stay current on the latest in veterinary medicine, he has completed continuing education courses in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopy, thoroscopy, and laser surgery. As one of our newest associate veterinarians, he enjoys the variety of surgical and medical cases he encounters as well as the smiling clients and happy pets.
Dr. Thorsen and his wife, Patti, have two daughters, Kathryn and Claire. They also have a spitz dog named Oscar James, whom they call Big “O” for short. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, scuba diving, golfing, and motorcycle riding. He is also a classically trained baritone singer.
